Yes, clinical hypnosis can be the answer to a nearly endless variety of challenges. It has the potential to “fix” numerous problems. Hypnosis can create remarkable changes in a client’s life experiences simply by reprogramming their subconscious mind at its deep level to eliminate undesirable habits and potentially harmful desires of many different kinds.

Having said that, what is absolutely necessary for a positive result through hypnosis, is a person’s sincere desire and motivation for change. If that sincere motivation is lacking, not much can be done even when repeated clinical hypnosis sessions are given.

What factors can motivate a person to earnestly desire lasting significant change? The most obvious motivator is any looming behavior-caused disease or other threat to health. If anything is present day to day on a repeated basis to negatively affect normal physical or mental health such as excessive drinking of alcohol, compulsive smoking, extreme over eating, exposure to extraordinary long term stress or addictive behavior of any kind, hypnosis should be considered.

A series of hypnotic sessions can offer relief by reprogramming the undesirable behavior, as well as the attitude affecting it, to create positive change.

Another factor that can cause strong motivation in a client is any unreasonable and crippling fear. It might be fear of crowds thus limiting their ability to go to the mall or a grocery store. It could be fear of enclosed places such as an elevator which would not allow them access to many places of business. Certain phobias can restrict one’s ability to fly in an airplane or travel by ship.

Another half hidden fear presents itself as the lack of self-esteem which actually is caused by the fear of not being good enough, not measuring up to the standards set by others or concern over saying the wrong thing.

Fortunately the vast majority of self-limiting fears and extreme phobias will yield to reprogramming with the use of hypnosis. Through hypnosis they can be controlled, significantly minimized and often completely eliminated.

I work with clients one-on-one in the healing room of my home in Sarasota Florida or by telephone. If you have a problem that is affecting your enjoyment of your life or keeping you from obtaining your goals, feel free to call me. We can discuss the possibilities for treatment to create positive changes and to bring you the results you desire. All sessions are uniquely designed for you.

Rev. Lois Cheney: (928)300-2030.

Some years ago I was reluctant to try using my clinical hypnosis skills “long distance”, i.e. by telephone. Fortunately I discovered that I was just as effective and just as much in control that way. It only required a lot of focus and concentration on my part. At any rate I was able to help a number of clients without sitting across from them. It gave me much more leeway! As you probably can tell, I love my work and the results.

If I can help you in any way: to dispatch fears, lose weight, control habits or regain self-confidence; give me a call today for your private appointment.

How could a bad haircut put a curse on your life? Well of course it couldn’t but it could put a dent in your enjoyment of one day or two perhaps the entire week just by the way you focus on it… Just by the way you refuse to acknowledge that it is a very temporary setback and your hair will grow out again… Just by refusing to believe and realize that ultimately you will have a second chance at successful grooming!

Isn’t it odd the way our self-talk can go? “I just know my husband (or wife) won’t like this mess of a haircut. This is just a disaster!  Now how can I go to a job interview looking like this?” We do tend to obsess over things that are so fleeting and basically no big deal.

Why did I start by using a haircut as the subject of my musings? Simply because with a rather insignificant event sometimes it is easier to understand and admit what many times we do to sabotage our own joy. Just as easily I could have used the example of his fancy formal shirt ruined by a wine spill or the elegant dress that shrank to doll-size in the wash. Even if all three things had happened they would not be enough to actually ruin a life!

It is important to realize that any discomforting event will eventually be past history. The quicker we are willing to maintain a positive focus while accepting things as they are right now, the sooner things will change for the better. Holding on for dear life to misery, continually feeding it more energy, just creates more misery and emotional upheaval.

To look at it in a different way, what you resist persists. There is no getting around the fact that the more we push against the existing circumstances, refusing to accept them, the longer they seem to stay with us. The more we hold tight to our unhappy feelings, the more miserable we become.

All of this does not suggest that you should not take corrective action when it is called for but it should be done with a feeling of allowing things to work out in their appropriate timing. Force brings about opposing force. The more we demand situations to change this instant the harder, denser and more unmovable they become.

On any issues larger than a haircut for instance it is perfectly normal to be upset over the loss of a friendship or the passing of a pet. In such circumstances we simply need to limit the amount of time we allocate to grieving and begin to put energy into more progressive pursuits. Such heartfelt losses need not be allowed to ruin endless weeks and months. There will always be other people who will be grateful for your friendship. There will always be loving pets needing you.

I actually have seen people go into mild depression over the fact that their favorite automobile was no longer repairable, simply could not function and had to be “retired”. Life is too precious to waste any of it in ongoing regret or self-recrimination of any kind. I “could have” or “should have” never solves anything.

Each one of us is here on earth to use our wonderful God given gifts and talents while learning our life lessons. If we are to fulfill our destiny we need to pursue our life paths with determined optimism and joy. It is difficult to be productive if we are continually looking over our shoulders at past unhappiness or reviewing current difficulties over and over again.

Think of it this way: one plan didn’t work, but there are other options; the home you wanted was already sold, but there will be a better one; your friend moved away, but you can ease your next door neighbor’s loneliness with a few moments of your company while at the same time making your own feelings lighter in the process.

Keep looking on the bright side and your personal light will shine brighter not only for your benefit but for others. There is never a good reason to concentrate on what you do not want. Look instead to what you can do right now this moment to access your inner joy.

When you can find a reason to be thankful, to be grateful for anything at all, it is much easier to get into your joy. And when you are joyful you will find positive creative ideas will come so easily. Being in joyful gratitude gives you added energy to carry out those tasks that are calling for your special abilities. I believe that each one of you my readers is capable of greatness!

If you need a little help in keeping your thinking on a positive track while stopping all the worrisome “detours”, give me a call. Hypnosis is a quick and effective way to restructure your habitual thinking. With some hypnotherapy you will find yourself believing in “possibilities” rather than “problems”. Inculcating or installing a positive attitude with the help of your subconscious mind allows you to access clearer thinking and simpler solutions to life’s stumbling blocks.

Oh yes, those New Year’s resolutions. We all make-um, we all break-um. If we are totally focused maybe, just maybe, we stay with it till mid-January.

Let’s do it differently this year. Feel free to make all the huge all-encompassing mind blowing resolutions for your desired life changes but then: break them down into manageable little action steps, just some little bites.

For instance let’s say you feel heavy and you want to lose 30 pounds of body weight. Instead resolve to eliminate 3 pounds with each passing week. It isn’t such a terrible frightening goal as the entire 30 pounds. It is attainable without having to constantly worry and fight the battle of the whole amount.

Perhaps you have decided that you would be happier living in another location. Instead of packing your bags on January first, simply resolve to begin researching the possibilities in as many locations as attract you. You might order maps, populations numbers, locations of stores that you feel necessary, cost of rents etc.

Let’s admit it there is something about the start of a brand new year that sometimes causes us (metaphorically) to jump overboard. Breathe! Decide what your optimum end result would be and work backward from there.

If I truly want result “Z” what would I need to do first, what action should I take to accomplish steps “Y” and “X”? Or if I have not build any platform leading up to accomplishing “Z” should I go all the way back to “A”?

I promise you will feel much more in control if you will just outline and put in writing the small actions that lead up to your desired large result. You are more likely to stay the course and obtain the ultimate winning goal by taking action on those “little bites”.

As a certified clinical hypnotist I have helped many clients obtain life-affirming and gratifying results by guiding them one important step at a time. Is there a beautiful change you would like to make for 2017? Do you want this year to be the best one ever? Let’s plan together. I am here to help you.

Reverend Lois Cheney

Yes, at last after all the home renovations I am able to open the bedroom closet and see my old familiar clothes “friends” with me here in Rogers Arkansas. Why is that important? It is mostly because Jake, Booboo and I moved our home base from the far west of Arizona to the heartland of northwest Arkansas.

Nothing seems to settle me down like having familiar things around me. In this case it was my shoes, dresses and sweaters. Opening the closet door and having my red jacket smiling back at me was pure delight. Of course after all the unpacking and reorganizing our little dog Booboo is especially happy to enjoy her usual bed, treats and toys.

When you consider it, most of us are operating on habitual expectations. We depend on the familiar. We have certain firmly held beliefs. We expect to know which cupboard, which drawer holds the knives and forks without a lot of searching. We hold a memory card for that specific location. Also depending on traffic lights as we travel, we know to stop the car without a lot of thought about what a red light means.

In general habit serves us very well indeed until we cease looking at some aspects of it. When we make decisions on life’s recurring issues by merely following what we always do in similar situations, we may cut off some more positive options.

The actions we take may be on seemingly small problems but unfortunately everything we do affects something or someone else. It pays to open up our thinking to allow that there is almost always more than one solution to any challenge.

I was teaching an intuitive development class for the college in Arizona when one of my students asked me to give her a method for forcing her coworker to agree with her own firmly held plan of action. She wanted to mentally force her coworker to see the “right” way. I suggested that just possibly there was more than one way of resolving the problem, more than one possible solution. I guess I was too forceful because my student didn’t return!

Habit many times serves us well. All I am suggesting is that sometimes we need to consider some of our more imbedded habits and automatic reactions. It is good to see if a certain familiar path has lost its usefulness. Occasionally we might catch ourselves using outdated solutions we used as children which no longer work in our adult world.

As a certified clinical hypnotist I am often asked to “reframe” ideas, those old knee jerk reactions and habits for a client. The subconscious mind will do anything for you given the right instructions. Hypnosis is a reliable way of imbedding those new instructions. With the deep meditative state accessed through hypnosis you always have the option of creating a new improved neural pathway for more positive results.

Yes, it is a line from the musical “The Sound of Music”. In my mind I can still hear Julie Andrews’s beautiful voice in the movie version. “Nothing comes from nothing. Nothing ever could. So somewhere in my youth or childhood, I must have done something good.”

Doesn’t that sound like what we call our “karmic returns”? In other words it is the deeds you perform, the emotions you send forward, the thoughts you continual rehearse, and your habitual ways of relating to life events that create your life experiences by way of the immutable and universal law of karma.

If you are not thrilled with the situations in your life today, fortunately creating positive change is remarkably simple. As a hypnotist I have helped many people make sweeping changes with the use of hypnotherapy. To create wonderful life affirming results all you need to do is change what you are focusing upon. Bring gratitude, joy, love and light into your thinking and emotions. It is easy to see what isn’t working but much more important and profitable to look for what is possible and beautiful.

I hear you say “but what if this negativity is just from some past life of mine? I can’t change that.” The good news is it makes no difference how an unwanted situation arrived or what drew it into your experience. What does matter is that you begin today to think, feel, speak and act differently, in a much more positive vein. You may well be surprised how quickly you can create beautiful changes to benefit all your days.

Among the many other ways of improving your personal karmic returns is to take a deliberate 2 week news fast: no TV, no radio, no internet. The so called news being spewed forth by the various media is deliberately focused on what is wrong with our world not what is right. Just stop listening to what is wrong. It is much better to believe that within any soul’s action or any groups’ action, no matter how seemingly horrible, there is still the possibility of great light and love present within each individual. All people, regardless of their current actions, are still endowed with a fantastic spirit which can be awakened.

If enough of the earth’s population began using heartfelt gratitude in addition to adopting an unwavering belief in love and light and continually sent those energies forth we could reach the wonderful tipping point of 51%. In other words that percentage of positive energy being poured forth would change the whole world. It could mean the end to senseless acts of violence!

The good news is that reaching the tipping point could begin with you and me using our positive thoughts, actions and emotions. Are you with me? Let’s start today!

Who Was I!

Who Was I?
Your personal past life experiences can have a profound effect on your life today. Those effects can manifest positively or negatively and can be physical, emotional or mental. They may indicate a profound talent or an unexplained pain and disability.

The good news is that if you want to make positive changes in your life experience today, a past life exploration with the help of hypnosis can do just that for you. As a certified clinical hypnotherapist I have been able to help many people to access their past experiences.

It does not matter how long ago any particular life experience has been. It might be centuries ago, just 100 years ago, whatever the length of time that has past, akashic records will open for you. Interestingly, your chakras and all the cells of your body also hold past memories. Your subconscious mind when it is allowed to come forward through hypnosis, will reach out to wherever those memories exist and bring them to your conscious awareness.

You can amplify talents that you developed long ago and use those talents today. Were you a successful author, a fantastic ballerina, the best archer? Do you want to use some of those techniques to-day?

In addition your subconscious or “high-self” can also promote healing of the trauma of physical injuries that were your past experience as well as help with healing fears and phobias stemming from past events.

Hypnosis can be applied with great success to many troublesome situations in your life today. The great thing is that you needn’t continue to fear or be in needless pain. Even better is working with hypnosis can access your ability to move forward on your life path with boundless energy and fresh unique approaches.

Today I am giving you a very special gift. I am printing for you the personal permission slip you were given when you entered this lifetime. It says: “In this moment and now and forever you are granted the unending right to be and express that very special, unique, unusual individual you were born to be.” Now I must ask you: Are you willing to use that right?

Just as no two snowflakes are alike, you are not like any other person on this earth or possibly any other life form in the cosmos. It is your own individuality that is your gift. You are special and important. I applaud all your differences.

Somewhere deep inside you lives a power filled urging to carve your own path, to pull away from whatever anyone else thinks you should or ought to do. Your soul pushes you to express your uniqueness, to take chances by acting on your wildest ideas.

Oh, yes, you may have goals and objectives that are similar to the ideas of others, but your way of accomplishment will never be the same. Your methods will not be identical to those of anyone else. You were born to shine in your own way. None of you are clones.

Why is this so important? Because by acknowledging your unique desires and abilities you are shedding the inhibiting guidelines you have absorbed or inherited from family, friends or coworkers. This letting go of past instructions will allow you to finally fully actuate the life that your soul intended from your birth. By projecting the truth of who you are into your life, you may lose a friend or two but I promise you will attract others who see and appreciate the light and love that you are.

Going along with mass thought, following the majority or the crowd will not make you happy. It is not only O.K. to use the road less traveled, the belief system less used, it is necessary. Each of you must carve your own path by following the urging of your heart. When you feel joy pour over you like a warm shower you are pursuing exactly what you need to do regardless of anyone else’s opinion or reaction.

Because you are individual, one of a kind, there is no single plan, no one way for gaining those experiences and that education for which you came to earth, for which you incarnated to be here at this particular time in the planet’s evolution. “One size” does not now and never will “fit all”.

Do you have day dreams or night visions that tug at your heart, dreams that beg you to follow them? Do not let them get away for lack of your attention. Write down your desires. Maybe you feel they are impossible or impractical but do not let them get away.

If your dreams are important enough to stir your soul, imagination and emotion, they are important enough to keep. Those dreams can be Spirit’s way of giving you directions, allowing you to attain resonance with your soul. What does not work today may well work tomorrow. Just acknowledging the desires of your heart can magnetize your personal energy to draw others to help you. Writing those heartfelt desires in a journal brings them energy and life.

As a psychic, I offer Dream Work as well as Intuitive
Development classes from time to time. I design all of those classes to be as much fun and games as possible simply because people seem to learn much faster in that kind of format. Why study dreams? Why push toward intuitive development? Because if you become more aware of the inner essence or truth of what is happening within you and around you, you can make more life affirming choices.

I believe too many of us go through life holding back our words and thoughts for fear of offending someone with our beliefs or saying something too “far out.” Much to my daughter’s embarrassment, I have a habit of striking up a conversation about anything most anywhere. One night when we were entertaining I asked our guests “Have any of you ever seen a U.F.O.?” I could almost feel my daughter sink into the carpet. But that question started a very lively and interesting conversation.

Let me tell you about my trip to Walmart the other day. This story has nothing to do with guides, angels and masters or even the meaning of life but here it is anyway. I had just walked in the back door of Walmart when I noticed this little curly haired older lady with an empty shopping cart. She was leaning just a bit on a small cane. Without meaning to I began to laugh so hard I nearly turned inside out.

Naturally she turned to look at me. I touched her lightly on one shoulder and said “I just can’t help it. I got the funniest idea in my mind that I was going to grab your cart and run down the aisle with you chasing me. I would never do such a thing and I can’t imagine why I even thought it! I must be tired to get so silly.” By that time we were both laughing till people began to stare. She said, “Worse than that, I wouldn’t have been able to catch you!”

I like to think that both of us felt a little lighter after all that fun. I smile every time I think about it. We tend to take everything in life so seriously that once in a while we just need a little comic relief.

To some degree all of us are the product of those “rights and wrongs” we learned in childhood. Our parents with their beliefs and understanding did the best they could to guide us but as adults we need to look carefully at those early rules and judgments that may no longer serve us. We need to acknowledge something as basic as it is alright to talk to strangers.

In still another realm of influence we may be tempted to “fall in line” with our friends or co-workers ideas of what is right for us when what we really need is to learn to listen to our soul’s directions.

To illustrate our tendency to do the so called right or expected thing, let me tell you about my cat Festus. I had just moved with my adopted alley cat, Festus, to a new home in Austin, Texas. I was worried that he would become disoriented in the neighborhood so I bought a little harness and attached him with a chain on the patio under the shade of the roof. I intended to keep him tied for maybe three days until he could understand that this was his new home.

All went well for a couple of days. I kept him fed, watered and shaded. Then on day number three I came out to pet him and there was no Festus, just a harness and a chain. I immediately started searching the neighborhood and spotted him a few blocks down the street. When I called to him he ran the opposite direction. I thought that was the end of that.

However, when I got back to the house there he was, sitting right beside his harness and chain pretending he was still attached. How smart are animals? I have to wonder though if his behavior wasn’t akin to something we do. We break away from some of the old learned behaviors that no longer fit and then, out of comfort or familiarity, we go right back.

Perhaps unconsciously, we feel the need to conform to the patterns that our family or friends have created for us. Most folks have a tendency to resist change. Those people we are close to may be more content with their perceptions of us if we are willing to be predictable. They may be happier if what they have decided to be true about us remains static. In many cases, they prefer it if we will stay in the little identity box they have created for us.

Is it any wonder that we tend to have communication challenges with our relationships when we understand things so differently? Working with your own intuition, sharpening your inner awareness can be a communication tool and blessing. Strengthened intuition absolutely will improve your understanding of others in your life, but equally important, it will help you to understand your own actions and motivations.

I am reminded of one of the Carlos Castaneda books. In it his mentor and teacher, Don Juan, tells Carlos, “You must lose your personal history.” Carlos says he can’t do that. He has earned this degree, he has had this experience. But Don Juan insists, telling him he has to be who he is today, this minute.

I believe that is what each of us must do. Yes, our past has brought us to this day, our current level of understanding, but we cannot live from or in the past. We need to be the new “this minute” us, this “now” us with all our new ideas, understanding and concepts. It is definitely o.k. to be different! It is right that you and only you should select your current path and ideas.

Embrace change. Welcome it in your life. It is only through change that you can move forward. Look at your own life from a different point of view. Ask yourself questions! Who or what is center stage in your life today? Is there reciprocity in this situation or are you bleeding away all your energy. Does this activity or relationship fill you with joy or emptiness?

Sometimes that which was on center stage in your life needs to be loved from a distance or moved to the curb!
Each of you has a soul that is always prompting you to move forward, to accomplish. It urges you from your heart to be as much as you can be, to use your special gifts and talents.

Listen to that warm, urging heart emotion. If you are able to perceive that heart and soul wisdom with greater understanding and give it your full attention, you will find the way to access a more fulfilling joy and flow in your life.

How can you know if you are on your LIFE PATH? I have the question so many times in my work as a counselor. Fortunately, you have been given the measuring stick or tool to use for just such a question. When the path your are on, the work you are doing is so much a part of you that minutes and hours spent in that endeavor mean nothing, you have found it. When you never bother to look at a clock because you are doing what you love, you are on your path. When your heart sings and your spirit soars, you have found IT!

Being your authentic self, finding your way to your special destination may not happen in an instant. No matter how long it takes, your dedication to the journey will be an inspiration to others. Each step along the way is a learning experience.

Develop the gifts and the talents that you have. Work with those occupations or goals that draw you in and will not let you go. No one person can decide for you what your life is about. Not your closest friend, not your parents, not your spouse can ever know the intimate details of what makes you special.

Be proud of your individuality and make the best use of it. You are important to this earth and all of her inhabitants. No one can make the contribution you came here to make. Believe in yourself and step forward with confidence.

I am always ready to help you with any of your life challenges and questions. Call today for your private counseling appointment. I welcome you to my Prescott, Arizona studio or to a telephone session. In either case I will give you a cassette tape of your reading for your later review. Be sure to ask about chakra clearings with sound, color and crystals and private intuitive development lessons.

What would you like to change in your experience? Could it be as simple as changing what you have said to yourself and your friends over and over again?

Consider what I have said and thought for years: “Every time, every month when it is the full moon I just can’t sleep. I feel like a prowling animal. Oh dear, I just know I will be awake half of the night!”

What if instead I decided to repeat something different, turning the idea inside out, flipping it over, putting it in reverse. “Oh, the full moon is on the rise. I just can’t wait. You know every time the moon is full I feel as if I am bathed in a silken blanket of shimmering white light! Bring it on Mr. Moon. I love your radiance. You comfort me. I enjoy the best sleep when you are full. I rest as deeply as a sleeping peaceful baby.”

Could it be that all of us have told ourselves things that we truly don’t want? Could changing our thoughts and words make a difference?

Perhaps your often said phrase goes something like this: “Oh what am I going to do. Aunt Tilly is visiting again. I hope she doesn’t stay long. Every visit of hers just makes me angry and sick. Her ideas are crazy. I know I’ll have to go to bed by the time she leaves!”

O.K., what about this instead: “Aunt Tilly! Isn’t she just a piece of work. She and her off the wall ideas make me smile and laugh inside. I wonder what she has come up with this time. I can’t wait to hear her carry on. I just know I will laugh till my sides hurt after she leaves. I get such a kick out of her. Her antics put a smile on my face. She knows no bounds and no barriers. Oh, to be that free. What an imagination!”

Sometimes we are so much more powerful than we realize. Try taking just one of your “oft-said” ideas or words and rewrite the script. You never know. You might be missing a whole lot of fun and positive dynamic change.

What will your new experience be?

I AM …..?

What energy are you sending out today? What are you telling yourself, or others, about yourself?
Are you telling your world “I am strong” or “I am weak”? Are you saying “I am certain” or “I am confused”?
Do you chastise and degrade yourself with words like “stupid,” “foolish” or “why would I do something that silly”? Or are you praising your actions “well done,” “that was good,” “I am proud of the result”?

Whatever words you are telling yourself, those words are either true right now, this minute, or they soon will be. The reason is simply because you are declaring it! You have set your creativity into motion. You have that much power at your command!

Choose wisely when you speak or think “I am _ _ _”. Your words and thoughts are important and matter more than you may think. Your faithful subconscious is always listening, always believing anything and everything that you say. Your subconscious is your obedient servant and will begin at once to make your words true.

If you seek more abundance in your life, cease all talk about indebtedness. Speak instead of opportunities. Be openly happy when others succeed. Praise their accomplishments. Acknowledge your own success as well. Wish abundance for everyone and yours will soon make its appearance.

If you desire greater health, stop complaining about any aches or pains. Talk instead of how much enjoyment you gain from your new exercise regimen. Tell yourself and others that you feel better every day. “I enjoy life. I feel great.” Keep at those words until they are true!

Speak and think only the words that represent what you truly wish to manifest in your life. Use your strong emotion to amplify your desires. See and feel the reality of your wishes from the very depths of your soul.

Think only the highest and best, and the highest and best people, places and situations will be drawn to you with the strength of a powerful magnet. Always remember that you are creating your life experience, one word, one thought and one feeling at a time.
Your are in charge of your own powerful energy. At any moment that you choose, you are capable of dynamic, positive change. Decide today to be in control of your thoughts and words.

Build the life that you deserve. Be definite about what you wish. Today and every day, declare your life to be the very best, not only for your good, but for the good of all those who are directly concerned or affected by your life path.“I am healthy, energetic and happy. I am loved and loving. I am prosperous and generous.”

From my heart to yours: May today and every day find you blessing others and being blessed by others. May your life be a blessing to all. I wish for each one of you the spirit-filled, uplifted life that I wish for myself. If I can help you in any way, please call for a private spirit directed psychic reading.
